There is a lot of documented information about the AA and its signage so we know that this sign is incredibly rare as it is before the Automobile Association joined up with the Motor Union. The AA first erected signs in 1906 and they joined the Motor Union in 1910 when they took down all existing signage.
This particular sign would have been displayed at some time in those 4 short years. As you can see the sign gives the distance to destinations in miles.
The sign measure 24 inches across (54cm) and has minimal enamel loss which means that it has always been cared for. This sign is of museum quality and will make its owner a very happy person.
